ABSTRACT

This study explored the sources of stress and use of coping behaviour among football players. Fifty football players from a BHEL sports club state level competition participated in this study and completed a survey to examine their stress sources and associated coping behaviour. The results indicated that the most common sources of stress were evaluative expectation and threat pressures of competition. Sports persons mostly 05 coping strategies used to manage stress. Results suggest designed to reduce stress should seek to increase the use of active and positive reframing styles to cope with stress.
