Effectiveness of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy on Psychological Well-being of Alcoholic Adults

ABSTRACT
In recent years, there has been significant progress and expansion in the development of evidence-based psychosocial treatments for alcoholic adults. Problematic drug and alcohol users report problems in various areas including health, psychological and social problems. Psychosocial interventions for the treatment of alcohol problems cover a broad array of treatment interventions, which have varied theoretical backgrounds. The present study was conducted to explore the effectiveness of cognitive behaviour therapy on Psychological Well-being of alcoholic adults. For the present research, work investigator has selected sample of 40 male alcoholic adults from Ahmedabad district. All the alcoholic adults were screened by medical experts, Further, total sample was divided randomly into two categories i.e. experimental group (20) and control group (20). Similarly, Psychological Well-Being measured through scale developed by Sisodia, D. S. and Choudhary, P. Findings of present research revealed that intervention of cognitive behaviour therapy has a significant impact on the psychological well-being of alcoholic adults. Furthermore, the benefits of CBT may extend beyond the treatment period and protects against relapse or recurrence after treatment termination
