Study Depicting Employees FOMO and Self-Esteem Levels has Impact on Perceived Stress Thereby Influencing Mindfulness, Work Effort and Performance at Work

ABSTRACT
This quantitative study carries out research among the employees of organizations based in North Indian cities (Dehradun, Haridwar, Delhi, Mumbai) to find out impact of FOMO and self-esteem on perceived stress which thereby influence the mindfulness, work effort and performance of the employees at work.60 employees were chosen for this research. Tools used in the study were FOMO Scale, Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale, Mindfulness Awareness and Attention Scale, Work Effort Scale, Individual Performance Questionnaire, Perceived Stress Scale. The result shows a low negative correlation between stress and work effort, mindfulness and individual work performance. The correlation between stress and work effort is -0.171 (significant at 0.01 level), between stress and mindfulness is -0.171 (significant at 0.01 level) and between stress and effort is -0.018 (significant at 0.01 level). The results state that when stress increases, work effort, mindfulness and individual work performance decreases.
