ABSTRACT

The impact of grief on the quality of life and work productivity among employees has gained significant attention in recent years. This study explores the relationship between grief and its effect on employees’ quality of life and work productivity. Data was collected from 133 employees through Google Forms using established questionnaires: the Brief Grief Questionnaire, the WHO Quality of Life Scale, and the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, regression analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. The results indicated that grief negatively impacted both the quality of life and work productivity of employees, although the relationship between grief and work productivity was not statistically significant. Grief was found to have a moderate inverse correlation with quality of life and a weak negative correlation with work productivity. The study highlights the importance of understanding the effects of grief on employees in the workplace and calls for organizations to consider supporting grieving employees to mitigate negative consequences. These findings contribute to the growing body of research on the intersection of emotional well-being and work performance, emphasizing the need for workplace policies that address the needs of grieving employees.
