ABSTRACT
This study investigates the relationship between emotional, social, and spiritual intelligence. While these three types of intelligence have been extensively investigated, the interaction between these three dimensions is largely unknown. Until now, these three constructions have been hitherto understudied. The study uses standardised measures, such as the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire – Short Form, Tromsø Social Intelligence Scale and Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory. We hypothesised a significant relationship between emotional and social intelligence, social and spiritual intelligence, emotional and spiritual intelligence and the overall relationship among the three. The findings show significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence, social intelligence and spiritual intelligence; between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence; between social intelligence and spiritual intelligence and no significant correlation between emotional intelligence and social intelligence. This study demonstrates how emotional and social traits can independently influence spiritual intelligence by providing a new perspective on spirituality as a higher-level result of emotional awareness and social connectedness. These will guide training programs, and mindfulness-based approaches for improving emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.
