ABSTRACT

Crime against women in India is 66.4 percent cases against per lakh as per Crime in India (2022) and India stand at the bottom of the global crime statistics and the efforts made to enhance women safety through mobile app. These mobile apps were the safe guard the women with women safety apps at night, specifically for working women, to prevent crime against women and children. These apps are more advance, modernized, the commonness of features these apps have been Save Our Soul (SOS) alerts, GPS tracking & Emergency Dial (100,112), in some apps there is have unique feature like video/audio recording, real-time tracking, e-complaint etc., The lack of women security is major concern in every part of the country. Therefore, this study will focus on the usefulness of the women safety apps and analyze the women safety app with crime against women data of the crime in India. Also, this article highlights the importance of technology in security and address the gender-based crime and suggests the preventive methods with the use of safety apps crime against women.
