Creative Teaching Attitude of primary teachers with reference to Emotional Intelligence

ABSTRACT

Teacher of 21st century needs to adopt creative teaching methods in a classrooms. An increased size of classroom, inception of ICT in teaching and status of learning outcomes of learner give emphasis on use of creative teaching approach by teachers. Emotional intelligence can be used as an indicator of professional success of primary teachers. The study is aimed at finding the correlation between Creative Teaching Attitude (CTA) and Emotional Intelligence (EI) among primary teachers in relation to gender, curriculum type, school locality, type of school, and length of service. Attitude Scales of Creative Teaching (ASCT) of R.P. Shukla and Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS) of Anukul Hyde, Sanjyot Pethe and Upinder Dhar was used to collect the data. The study conducted on a sample size of 760 primary teachers revealed that insignificant   correlation between CTA and EI of primary teachers.  Gender, curriculum type, school locality, type of school  and  length of service of primary teachers doesn’t offer any scope for difference in  correlation in variables under investigation.
