ABSTRACT
Present research analyzes the correlation between general health and anxiety levels of women undergoing infertility. Infertility leads to the development of psychiatric symptoms and negative effects on the general health of infertile women. A sample of 100 infertile women is taken from IVF unit of SRMS-IMS, Bareilly. Anxiety is evaluated by HAM-A scale and general health by SF-36 scale. Our findings show that the general health condition is good in both rural and urban infertile women of both age groups. Poor health is noticed only in young age of rural infertile women. Very severe anxiety levels are found in urban infertile women as compared to rural in both age groups. Severe anxiety levels are noticed in old age infertile women of urban as well as rural backgrounds compared to young age group.
