ABSTRACT
The present study aimed at exploring the influence of emotion regulation on happiness and hope among adults. A quantitative study was conducted with a total sample of 174 participants belonging to the age group of 25-39 years. The research findings showed a positive relation between happiness and hope, and happiness was significantly predicted by both strategies of managing emotions, with reappraisal as a positive and suppression as a negative predictor, whereas only cognitive reappraisal served as a significant positive predictor for hope. Lastly, with regard to gender differences, only expressive suppression showed a notable gender difference among males and females. The emotion regulation strategies, when utilized effectively, have a significant positive impact on people, leading to experiencing more pleasant life experiences and emotions, including happiness and hope.
