ABSTRACT
Emotional intelligence plays a vital role for positive gain and encouraging emotional growth of an individual. Emotional intelligence is an emerging phenomenon in the field of education psychology. An emotionally intelligent teacher will serve as an important role model for students. Emotional Intelligent affects how to manage one’s behaviour, navigate social complexities and make personal decisions that achieve positive results. It is an intelligence that can be learned, developed and improved in an education setup. Therefore, Emotional Intelligence enables individuals in recognizing their own and other’s emotions, making appropriate choices for thinking and action. Recent researches indicate that Emotional Intelligence is a better predictor of ‘success’ than traditional measures of cognitive Intelligence (I.Q.). Emotional Intelligent is the ability to identify, use understands and manage emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others and overcome challenges. A school is an ideal place where children develop their educational, social and emotional skills. This concept is very important for teachers as they should emotionally intelligent to understand and manage their emotions and also developed it to their students. In this present paper we’ll discuss about all aspects of Emotional Intelligence and why is it important in quality education setup.
