ABSTRACT

The study aimed to determine whether family cohesion had an impact on impostor phenomenon, body self-image and existential anxiety, and to assess the implications of the findings for this demographic. The results indicated that family cohesion was correlated with impostor phenomenon, body self-image, and existential anxiety in young adults. More specifically, the study revealed a positive correlation between family cohesion and body self-image, as well as negative correlations between family cohesion and both impostor phenomenon and existential anxiety. The study suggests that family plays a crucial role in shaping the self-concept of young adults and facilitating the development of personal and social identity, enabling them to effectively manage the demands of daily life and existential issues. In summary, this study adds to our understanding of the diverse factors that impact the well-being of young adults and emphasizes the importance of addressing both personal and familial factors to promote positive body self-image and manage existential anxiety.
