ABSTRACT
Attachment styles have a significant influence on cognitive flexibility, shaping an individual’s ability to adapt to new situations and process information. This study explores the relationship between avoidant attachment style and cognitive flexibility in a sample of 102 (ages 18-35) participants from India. For this purpose, Attachment style questionnaire-short form and cognitive flexibility inventory were administered. Pearson’s correlation analysis indicated a moderate positive relationship between attachment and cognitive flexibility (r = .443, p < .001), which shows, moderate positive correlation between avoidant attachment and cognitive flexibility meaning that higher avoidant attachment style higher is the cognitive flexibility in the individual.
