Forgiveness and Emotional Regulation as Predictors of Psychological Well-Being Among Adolescents

ABSTRACT
This study has been conducted to investigate the relationship among forgiveness and emotional regulation as predictors of psychological well-being among adolescents. A study was made on random sampling of 100 adolescents selected from Agra. The correlation study utilized, The Forgiveness, Emotional regulation and psychological well-being scale. Result indicate that Forgiveness and psychological well-being are positively correlated (r = 0.356**, significant at the level of 0.01). This suggest that an individual who practice more forgiving it led to the higher level of mental health and overall life satisfaction. There is positive correlation among forgiveness and emotional regulation scores (r = 0.362** significant at the level of 0.01). This suggests that the more one show forgiving the better emotional regulation. There is a positive correlation between emotional regulation, and psychological well-being scores (r = 0.532** significant at the level of 0.01). Thus, this suggests that the better one able to managing or dealing their emotions, the higher their level of psychological well-being tends to be increases.
