ABSTRACT
This study aimed to examine the levels of happiness and occupational stress among male and female higher secondary school teachers in Aurangabad city, Maharashtra, India. The primary objectives included analyzing gender differences in these variables and exploring their interrelationships. A purposive sampling technique was employed to select a total of 100 participants, comprising 50 male and 50 female teachers, aged 20 to 40 years (M = 31.26, SD = 5.16). Data were collected using three standardized instruments: the Happiness Scale (HS–RHMJ) and the Occupational Stress Inventory Revised Edition (OSI-R). Statistical analysis was conducted using t-tests to compare male and female teachers. The results revealed that male teachers exhibited significantly higher levels of happiness compared to their female counterparts. Conversely, female teachers reported greater occupational stress than male teachers. These findings underscore the importance of implementing gender-sensitive strategies to address specific challenges faced by teachers, enhance their well-being, and foster a supportive work environment.
