ABSTRACT
The mental health and well-being of university students have become crucial topics of concern, particularly given the rising stressors like academic demands and social hurdles. Health education initiatives are essential in providing students with the tools they need to effectively manage their mental health. This research paper examines the conceptual link between health education and mental well-being within university environments, highlighting the transformative effects of well-designed programs in advancing mental health awareness, diminishing stigma, and creating a supportive campus atmosphere. By drawing upon various theoretical frameworks, such as the Health Belief Model and Cognitive-Behavioral Theories, this study suggests that health education programs are vital for shaping students’ comprehension and management of mental health issues. Moreover, utilizing a mixed-methods approach, which includes administering a questionnaire to university students, this research aims to explore the impact of existing health education programs on students’ perceptions, behaviors, and coping strategies concerning mental health. The results are intended to offer insights into how universities can improve students’ mental well-being by incorporating comprehensive health education initiatives into their academic programs, ultimately leading to a healthier campus community.
