ABSTRACT
This current study aims to provide a review of literature using previously published studies, in order to analyze the interconnection between eco-anxiety, adolescent mental health, and climate change. The focus of the study is to examine both the short-term and long-term mental health impacts of natural disasters, which are increasingly frequent due to shifting weather patterns and global warming. Additionally, the review paper attempted to explore the potential differences in the psychological effects experienced by young adults in rural versus urban areas, as well as possible variations between genders. In doing so, a review of the existing policy frameworks and organizations that provide support to distressed adolescents affected by climate-related disasters will be provided. This review paper will be helpful for policy makers and environmentalists to better understand the impact of natural disasters on mental health of youth and adolescents.
