ABSTRACT
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the global population. It’s recognized that stress and psychological distress can influence women’s menstrual cycles due to their impact on the brain’s hormone production. This disruption in hormonal levels can change the frequency and duration of menstrual periods. To investigate the effects of stress during the pandemic on women and its relation to pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), a study was conducted on young Indian women aged 15-35. The study involved 106 participants, and data was collected using the Perceived Stress Scale and Pre-Menstrual Syndrome Scale (PMSS). The results demonstrated a clear positive correlation between stress and PMS during the pandemic. Moreover, the study revealed noticeable differences in the experience of stress and PMS between women aged 15-25 and those aged 26-35.
