ABSTRACT
The intersection of psychology and artificial intelligence (AI) represents a transformative epoch characterized by significant advancements and profound implications. This study explores the impact of AI usage on stress, burnout, and attention among young adults in academic settings. Leveraging a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from a sample of 60 participants, divided equally into AI users and non-users. Results revealed that AI users exhibited significantly lower levels of stress and burnout (p < 0.001 and p < 0.05, respectively) compared to non-users, with no significant differences in attention levels. These findings suggest AI’s potential as a mitigating tool for stress and burnout in young adults. However, further investigation is warranted to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and broader implications. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on the ethical, social, and technological impacts of AI, emphasizing its role in enhancing mental well-being.
