A comparative investigation of personality traits and gender difference among management students

ABSTRACT

Present investigation was aimed at studying personality traits and gender difference among management students. This study included total 120 participants (60 boys & 60 girls) of age range 21 to 25 years (M=23yrs). For personality assessment, Raymond Cattell’s 16 Personality Factor questionnaire (Form C) was used. In this test, there is assessment of total 16 traits, but only 5 traits like warmth (A), reasoning (B), emotional stability (C), dominance (E) and liveliness (F) are taken into consideration in this study. Data were analysed by t-statistic. The result revealed that there is significant difference between boys and girls in traits like warmth (A), reasoning (B) and dominance (E). While for emotional stability (C) and liveliness (F), gender difference is not significant. This investigation concluded that girls are better in warmth and reasoning traits, while boys show more dominance level than girls.
