Relationship Between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) and Adult Introversion-Extraversion Trait

The study aimed to examine the relationship between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and adult introversion-extraversion trait of 60 participants through the use of a questionnaire. It also aims to explore if there were gender differences with respect to the personality traits. After statistical analysis, the results showed that there was no significant relationship between Adverse Childhood Experiences and an individual’s personality traits of introversion and extraversion. There by proving the 1st hypothesis. It was also found that there was a significant difference in gender with respect to the personality traits. This finding rejects the 2nd null hypothesis which stated that there will be no significant difference between genders on personality traits. Further, this study also rejects the findings of similar studies which have shown that the Adverse Childhood Experiences influences personality traits in adults.
