ABSTRACT
This article explores the effects of pornography on men’s sexual health, focusing on sexual dysfunction, addiction, unrealistic expectations, and impact on relationships. Research indicates that excessive pornography use is associated with erectile dysfunction, delayed ejaculation, and desensitization to real-life sexual encounters. It can lead to addiction, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Unrealistic expectations about sexual performance and appearance may decrease sexual satisfaction in relationships. Pornography use may also contribute to emotional detachment, decreased intimacy, infidelity, and conflict within couples. However, more research is needed to understand the role of confounding variables, compulsive sexual behaviors, and pornography types in these effects. Promoting open communication about pornography and fostering healthy sexual development is essential for men’s sexual health.
