ABSTRACT
In this study, the researcher aims to find the relation between emotional intelligence and life satisfaction among musicians who are 20 years and above and to study the significant difference in emotional intelligence and life satisfaction with regard to gender. The study involved 101 musicians where 46 of them are males and 55 of them are females. EQ self-assessment Checklist and Satisfaction of life scale were the two questionaries that were being used to measure the Emotional intelligence and life satisfaction respectively. Pearson’s Product moment correlation and t test were used to test the hypothesis. The results show that even though there is a weak positive correlation between emotional intelligence and life satisfaction, there is no significant difference between the two variables. On the other hand, it was also found that there is no significant difference in both emotional intelligence and life satisfaction in terms of gender.
